The Breteau Foundation announces partnership with Miraculous - Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir to produce a special Plastic Episode coming up in 2023.

The Breteau Foundation is excited to announce our newest partnership with award-winning global independent animation studios ZAG and ON Kids & Family (Mediawan Group) to collaborate on a special episode of the hit animated series Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir to raise awareness of the global plastic crisis. Set for release in March 2023, the episode seeks to inspire millions of Miraculous fans around the globe to become sustainability warriors in the fight against plastic.

In this special episode, Marinette and Adrien want to fight plastic pollution in Paris by convincing the largest plastic manufacturer to change his habits – but the heroes underestimate just how evil he can be! On top of that, what if the super villain manages to get him on his side as well?

The Breteau Foundation initiated the collaboration in 2020, after searching for an entertainment partner with a strong presence in the children’s markets. Sebastien Breteau, founder of The Breteau Foundation, says that this “was a unique opportunity to reach millions of children worldwide and inspire them to become active changemakers”. The Foundation worked alongside ZAG and ON Kids & Family (Mediawan Group) to enhance the script with key educational messages – in addition to developing a series of workshops in conjunction that will include free STEAM learning tools, teaching resources, and lesson plans designed to local primary school curriculum.

“We are very happy to get involved with the Breteau Foundation in an absolutely essential initiative: to enable our children to be aware of current issues and protect the future of the planet. This message will be all the more powerful as it is carried by Ladybug, a heroine as famous as she is aspirational. The DNA of our series and the values it conveys are naturally in line with the issues defended by the Breteau Foundation,” declared Aton Soumache, founder and President of ON Kids & Family. This also forms part of the global dynamic of the Mediawan group, which wishes to commit itself to measuring the impact of its activities on the environment in the upcoming months.

The educational film and workshops will be available for free on the Breteau Foundation website starting January 2023, in six languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, and Norwegian.
